Predi'Ov^® is an ovulation test specifically designed for use in sheeps. The timing of ovulation can be determined by using the test (carried out on a few drops of whole blood,) which detects the LH peak which does set off the ovulation 24 hours later.

Predi'Ov^® allows its user to determine and anticipate precisely the optimal timing to carry out an artificial insemination which is 12 hours after a positive test reading.

Predi'Ov^® may be used on farm or in stations by anybody involved in the husbandry of the female (farmer, technician, veterinary surgeon). It will detect the LH peak either in a natural cycle or in an artificially induced cycle.

Predi'Ov^® gives an answer quickly: it takes only 40 minute to carry out.

Predi'Ov^® is easy to interpret :

• if the stick stays white, there is no LH peak, the female is not ready for insemination
• if blue appears on the stick, the LH peak is happening, the female should be inseminated 12 hours later

A 3 step process with rinsing phases in-between steps: 

• Put 5 drops of blood in tube 1 and insert stick.
  • Leave for at least 15 minutes, then rinse using the pot provided.
• Take tube 2 (with yellow cap), remove cap and screw in the stick.
  • Leave for at least 15 minutes, then rinse using the pot provided.
• Take tube 3 (with blue cap), remove cap and screw in the stick.
  • Leave for at least 10 minutes, and then unscrew the stick for color reading:
    
    
    • If the stick end is BLUE: the test is positive, the LH peak is ongoing. The cow must be inseminated 12 hours later.
      NB : The test is positive whatever the blue color intensity.
      
      
    • If the stick end is WHITE: the test is negative, there is no LH peak. Repeat test according to recommendations.
